On Saturday, Jayden and I went to Heidi's Bridal Shower in Moses Lake. We even arrived a little early to help set up and spend some time chatting with the Bride-to-Be, her mother, and her grandmother.
.
When we arrived, Jayden was quite tired. Thankfully, I was able to put her down for an hour or so nap in Heidi's bedroom. While she was sleeping peacefully, I attempted to help by cutting some melons for a fruit dish. As it turns out, I let a watermelon slip off the counter top and smash all over Heidi's clean floor. Watermelon was splattered on the floor, up her cupboards, and on the wall. Luckily, what could have been an extremely uncomfortable moment, was brushed aside by Heidi and her family. Thank goodness.
.
After the watermelon fall (as opposed to the watermelon crawl), I decided that I was better suited for asking questions about the wedding. It was fun to see Heidi's wedding band, look through her engagement pictures, and adore her beautiful wedding shoes. She had the great idea of wearing her wedding shoes at the shower in order to wear them in a little.
.
Just as we were finishing getting everything ready, Jayden awoke and the guests started coming. Many of our fellow coworkers came to Heidi's shower and it was great to be able to spend time getting to know people outside of work!
.
Jayden did very well at the shower, but was fairly picky about who she would let hold her. She mostly just wanted me. I think that she was a little intimidated by the flock of adoring woman :).
.
Overall, it was a really good shower. I think that Heidi had a great time and I know that everyone is really excited for her upcoming wedding!
(As a side note, Jayden is sitting on the blanket that Heidi made for her).
