Yesterday evening, two of my good friends (one recently engaged) drove over to join Jayden and me at the Hot Air Balloon Festival in Quincy.

It was REALLY great to see them again and we had such a great time catching up on everything as well as enjoying the festival.
Above is a picture of Jayden when she saw the huge balloons! Check out that look of awe and delight!
Another neat perk of the evening is that they had wine tasting. Karla and Heidi enjoyed trying the different flavors of Eastern Washington.
Jayden, also, wanted to get her hands on a glass...
Unfortunately, we weren't able to watch any of the Hot Air Balloons take flight, but we did watch these crazy Go Karts with attached plantoon boat fans take flight (I am sure there is actually a technical term for the devices that they were flying...). All of us agreed that it looked WAY to scarey to try and ride one of those!
While we were waiting for nightfall and for the Hot Air Balloons to be reengaged, we enjoyed live music that sang familiar "oldies" songs.
The Hot Air Balloons were absolutely amazing to watch at night! Their beautiful colors stood out brilliantly in the crisp night air.
The evening ended with a huge, close, and stunning fireworks display. We all agreed that the fireworks we witnessed were a lot better than some 4 of July fireworks that we have seen!
It was a great way to conclude our day. Thanks Heidi and Karla for coming over for such a fun time! I truly hope that we can do it again next year!!!
